THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT. Folio (36 x 28 cm.). 60 leaves with the manuscript story of a young girl emigrating from England to Singapore, accompanied by her fantastical companion Edward Pod. They fly to Bahrein and then on to Singapore Island where the family set up home. They explore the city and surrounding countryside and islands. The whole tale beautifully and charmingly illustrated by the author. Housed loose in a binding by JARO in Johor Bahru. A manuscript note to front paste-down in the the author's hand states "The original copy of E.P. before publishing- put back together by publishers in Singapore." Only one copy of the printed book held institutionally, National Library Board Singapore, (ISBN 997165072X). No copies traced in commerce.
