Once wounded, and twice decorated for bravery, Espie Dods was at Sunnyside with the Queensland Mounted Infantry, at Anzac with the 5th Light Horse Regiment, and at the Somme with the 1st Division AIF. Includes the text of his Gallipoli diary, letters from the Front, and his hand-written notes on casualty evacuation at Pozières, where he was responsible for the management of 6633 wounded Diggers. Espie Dods was elected President of the Queensland Club for four successive years, and was twice President of the Queensland Branch of the British Medical Association, yet underneath his charm and professionalism lay a soul tormented by memories of WWI which ultimately led to his tragic death.
