Rius was the secretary of the Surrealist group, and close to Breton, with whom he edited the 'Anthologie de l'Humour Noir'; active in 'la Résistance' from the start of the War, and one of the founders of 'La Main à plume', a journal published in service of that cause. Captured at Fontainebleu, he was executed by the Nazis in 1944, aged only 30. Scarce. This is the first of two books published in his lifetime, its epigraph drawn from the mystic Ramón Lull.
