About sixty engravings including the engraved title page. No map. The illustrations are mainly of lochs and countryside, not the cities nor architecture. Dated March 2 1838 Though the last… digit is difficult to decipher). A beautiful, full leather volume. Unmarked. There's a degree of foxing inc. brown spotting to the backs of the majority of the engravings, blemishes which show through significantly only onto one of them. All the tissues intact. Decorative endpapers with unworn red cloth hinges. The black leather boards have deeply embossed decorations front and back with bright gilt rectangular surround likewise. The Title and gilt embossed decoration on the spine is very bright. Slight rubbing to the edges but hardly a trace of bumping. Thomas Allom & Co. / Robert Wallis (illustrator).
