Laid in is a facsimile of a postcard Roberts sent to the wife of the original owner, who apparently asked for an autographed book. Roberts states that he'd be happy to sign a few of his bookplates which the original owner of this copy could then affix to his books. Roberts' inscription reads - "For Herman Paul Riess, Best Wishes, Kenneth Roberts" Riess (1904-1978) was a resident of Frederick County, Maryland. Blue cloth with titling in gilt. 836pp. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Illustrated map endpapers. Mild wear to binding.
