Color frontis and 13 plates by Rountree complete and clean. Pin head sized rub through to cloth at two corners. Trace shelf soiling to cloth at spine. The remaining portions of the jacket are toned and edge rubbed with shallow chipping along the lower edge of the front panel and a damp line in the top spine corner of the same panel. Front flap tenuously attached to the front panel. Prior owner name penciled neatly to front endpage. Just mild foxing and offset toning from jacket flaps to the endpages. Hinges just a little tender; a few leaves with light soiling. A sound, complete and generally clean copy with a partial dust jacket. The much less frequently seen US edition of O'Brian's first work written when he was just 12 years old. VG-/Fair.
