Hardcover. Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket Condition: VG+. 1st. This is the centennial history of one of the most isolated, and difficult to access, settlements in New Zealand. Jacksons Bay, near the southernmost extremity of the West Coast of the South Island traces its origins as a settlement back to 1874 when a large area there w…as set was set aside as Government "special settlement" scheme. The Bay experienced revival in the 1960s when adequate roading acess became available bringing the long-awaited prosperity. 198 pages including six appendices, bibliography, index, 34 b/w photos, e/paper maps. Brown hard covers with gilt spine tirtles VG+ with hint wear spine extremities, text block is NF, no inscriptions. Pictorial DJ is VG+. Photos, Maps (illustrator).
