Beichmann og af Olaf Rye. * Den norskfødte generalmajor Olaf Rye (1791-1849) opnåede legendarisk berømmelse under Treårskrigen 1848-50, hvor han med stor dygtighed trak den danske hær op gennem Jylland, forskansede sig på Helgenæs, hvorfra han og hans tropper diskret udskibedes til Fredericia. Han faldt tidligt om morgenen 6. juli 1849 under kampen om Treldeskansen under det sejrrige slag ved Fredericia. ** Medunderskriveren Waldemar Nicolai Bryggemann Beichmann (1783-1862) stammede ligeledes fra Norge og valgte ligesom Rye at forblive i dansk tjeneste efter rigernes adskillelse i 1814.
