Ediciones de la Torre. - En MITO Y EXISTENCIA el Dr. Lud-wig Schajowicz, catedrático de Filosofía de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, nos expone sus ideas sobre el politeísmo griego como el verdadero fundamento del mundo occidental. Tanto frente a la escatología judeo-cristiana como frente al racionalismo moderno adopta el autor una actitud de firme rechazo, ya que se siente comprometido a combatir aquellas concepciones religiosas y filosóficas que, según su criterio, paralizan el diálogo. La voz que aquí se alza aboga por una nueva apropiación de la herencia de los griegos, "a cuya profunda religiosidad faltaban totalmente los ingredientes de intolerancia y fanatismo que sobran a la nuestra". Respecto de la tradición humanista y de las corrientes "paganas" del pensar europeo, afirma el autor: "A las fuerzas de irradiación del mythos griego se deben las más fecundas iniciativas espirituales de nuestra cultura, cuyos portavoces, aun cuando pretendan haber asimilado exclusivamente el pensamiento conceptual antiguo, están participando, sin saberlo, de una hierofanía de la que el mismo logos es tributario." - El profesor Schajowicz destaca en su libro aquellos enigmas existenciales del hombre antiguo que no cesan de suscitar interrogaciones en el hombre contemporáneo. Si éste quiere recuperar la apertura al mundo que tanto cabe admirar en aquél, le toca disipar las nieblas de sus pre-juicios religiosos y metafísicos, a fin de descubrir de nuevo la luz del mythos, que recompensó todavía a un Paul Valéry con "una larga mirada sobre la calma de los dioses".

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - During the two decades since the publication of the first edition of Histological Typing of Bone Tumours, new methods of diagnosis, es pecially radiological imaging techniques (computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging), associated with ad…vances in the new cytomorphological methods including immunohistochemistry, DNA ploidy analysis, cytogenetic chromosomal investigation, etc., have greatly improved our diagnostic tools and treatment results. These advances are reflected by the publication of new editions of various important textbooks in recent years. In these publications classifica tion criteria differed. In contrast, the WHO classification has been relatively unaltered, and has introduced a limited number of new entities and subdivided others because of distinct histological features and biological be haviour. In general the framework and the concept of the original classifi cation, as it has been widely accepted, remains essentially unchanged. The classification is based on the line of histological differentiation, in many instances reflecting the type of intercellular matrix material produced. This approach is justified because it avoids theoretical his togenetic controversies.
