An undated copy believed to be circa 1850s, though a previous owner has written 1843 in pencil on the title page, so it could be earlier than estimated. In black blind-stamped cloth boards with beautifully decorative gilt, green and red title block on front board, gilt motif to rear board and highly decorative spine. Boards are a little rubbed with light soiling and are somewhat bumped at extremities. Head and foot of the spine have wear, especially the head where the binding is cracking about 1cm. Stunning boards, nonetheless. Foxing to prelims and tissue guard to frontispiece. A smattering of foxing here and there within, but otherwise internally very good.
