Reprint, stapled. Condition: Sehr gut. pp. 313-332. A good and clean copy. - For those who have kept abreast with developments in the textual tradition of Aristotles Poetics the name of Nicasius Ellebodius will not be totally unfamiliar. R. Kassel, the editor of the Oxford text of the Poetics (1965), tells us2 how he became intrigued by B. Weinbergs allusion to a MS in the Ambrosian Library in Milan containing notae by the nearly forgotten sixteenth-century humanist, Nicasius Ellebodius, which suggest numerous improvements of the Greek text of Aristotles Poetics.3 This led Kassel to consult the MS (Cod. Ambr. R 123 sup.), in which he discovered among Ellebodius notae numerous valuable emendations which anticipated the proposals of more recent scholars, and which have been adopted in most modern editions.
