EXTREMELY RARE 18th century treatise on state-church relations by the renowned German Protestant theologian Johann Ernst Schubert (1717-1774). Schubert served as professor at the Julius Carl University in Helmstedt, wrote extensively on legal and religious issues, and was known for his progressive views on human rights. The book includes a b&w engraving on title page, and several text decorations. 215x180mm. 163 pages. Rebound in red cloth Hardcover. Cover and spine stained and slightly curved. Cover corners rubbed. Cover pierced at several places. Wormholes on cover, spine and inner cover. Several small wormholes on pages edge near binding - NO damage to text. Page 151-152 upper corner and edge wrinkled. Several pages slightly dog-eared. Few pages and text block edges age-stained. Pages yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This rare work on the church and state relations has suffered some minor damage, but is still in good reading condition. The book is in : German.
