Ex-libris Cornish artist and climber Victor Bramley (1933-2014), with his ownership signature in pencil to FFE. Elected to the St Ives Society of Artists in 1961, Victor's art was deeply rooted in his love of nature and the landscapes he explored. His formative journey began as an escape from the steelworks of Sheffield to the quiet countryside of nearby Derbyshire, which he fondly described as 'Paradise'. 'I spent many weekends tramping the hills and dales, camping or sleeping rough, scrambling through caves and potholes, and climbing the gritstone edges,' he recalled.
