The present edition, issued for the Centenary of Scott's first Antarctic expedition, offers a faithful facsimile of the original set, a particularly extraordinary feat in view of the high numbers of chromolithographed leaves and illustrated nature of the original sets. The set includes a fourth volume, not published at the time, and issued in the same format as the previous volumes.
