Caswall, an Anglican clergyman, if mostly remembered as a hymn writer who converted to Roman Catholicism and was closely asscociated with Newman. He wrote these satires on the ways of the careless college student, anonymously, before leaving Oxford. Witty entrance question such as 'At what ratio of velocity will an empty bottle in concussion with a nose break the nose in question? Explain this mathematical process of reduction to vulgar fractions.' Three copies of this edition of the first work on Copac; BL, UCL, Ox. The only copy of this edition of the 2nd work on Copac is in Oxford. 12mo.
