Der mit etwas ungelenken Zeichnungen und einer Karte des Marschgebiets in Frankreich illustrierte Bericht beginnt mit dem Auszug aus dem Thüringischen Neudietendorf und der Ausbildung in Hammelburg (Dezember 1939 bis April 1940). Es folgt die Beschreibung des Vorrückens in Frankreich im Mai, Juni und Juli 1940. Im Text erwähnt u.a. Roumont, Anloy, Houdrémont, Arreux, Tournes, Neufmaison, Larnois, Puiseux, Sorcy-Monclin, Vaux (Champagne), Vargemorlin, Givry-Remicourt, St. Goilde, Maurame, Chavraines, Lamertois, Valleroy, Dampierre, Orchamps, Chamblay. Der Aufenthalt markiert eine Pause (Juni/Juli 1940) vor der Rückkehr in die Heimat (Cölbe, Hessen). - Der Hinweis auf die Verfasser ergibt sich ausschließlich aus dem Fundzusammenhang (Teile des Deckblatts eines nicht mehr vorhandenen Schnellhefters; dort der abweichende - und vielleicht irrige - Titel "Tagebuch der 6.
