The first article, of 40 in the First Part, is the Rev John Brinkley's important discoveries -' On the Method of finding the Longitude from the culmination of the Moon and Stars,' John Brinkly(c.1767-1864), bishop and astronomer; and first astronomer royal for Ireland, 1792; awarded the Copley Medal in 1824 -' for his mathematical and astronomical papers, published in the Philosophical Transactions.'
