Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First Edition. First UK Edition. Large 8vo, pp. xviii, 300; with 3 maps (including one large folding coloured of the Great Karakoram and the Agil mountains at rear). Original black cloth with red-stamped title on upper board and spine. A clean and crisp VG+ copy with a chinese chop stamp to the FFEP and…quite heavy foxing to the early/late pages of the book. The book has slightly pushed spine tips and there is a short closed tear to the large folding map at the rear of the book. In the VERY RARE original dust-wrapper (priced 18/- net to the inside flap as called for) which is also in VG+ condition and is NOT price-clipped. The D/W has benefitted from some highly skilled archival restoration chiefly to the tip and tail of the spine. This has been done to a very high standard by one of the UK's leading archival restorers. The overall appearance of the D/W is now very attractive. Shows well. Very scarce.
