Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Leukemia is a type of cancer caused by the acquisition of gene mutations that bestow deregulated proliferation, impaired differentiation. There is continuing interest to recognize the signaling pathways and genes that play a crucial function in carcinogenesis and the development of resistance to antitumor drugs. The histone deacetylases (HDACs) has been found to interact with many partners through complex molecular mechanism leading to the regulation of gene expression, they have obtained the interest of a large number of researchers. Several HDAC inhibitors (HDACis) have been confirmed to proficiently protect against the growth of tumor cells in vitro as well as in vivo. Thus it is expected that some of the HDACi could be potential effective anti-leukemic drugs. In this book, we have summarized the current status of different classes of HDACs, epigenesis, apoptosis and role of HDAC inhibitors in therapeutics for the treatment of different types of leukemia. 80 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Carbon nanotubes suggested by scientist, have shown promising behavior to act as drug delivery tool as revealed from the present study. Due to greater storage capability of MWCNTs, they were used for the experiments instead of SWCNTs. Plenty of availability CVD prepared MWCNTs was one of the reason behind using them in the experiments. The drug characterization study was designed with at least two objectives in mind. Firstly, comparison of certain experimentally determined properties of the drug with those reported in Pharmacopoeia would authenticate the drug received as gift sample. Secondly, these preliminary studies of the drug properties would help further during more detailed experimental workup. Present study was planned to unravel the potential of CNTs as efficient controlled drug delivery vehicles and the results indicates the prospects of using CNTs as biomedical tools. These findings pave the way for further enhancing the properties of CNTs in terms of storage capacity, targeting potential and improving pharmacokinetics profile of drugs and biomolecules etc. 132 pp. Englisch.
