Written by Henry Sturmey and illustrated with original tipped-in photographs by Sir Benjamin Stone, including alpine views, the Matterhorn and group portraits of the travelling party. A scarce privately circulated production associated with the Vesey Club of Sutton Coldfield, a literary and scientific society founded in 1888. Of particular interest for its connections with Sir Benjamin Stone, the pioneering documentary photographer, and Henry Sturmey, later famous for his association with Sturmey-Archer and early cycling journalism.
