First edition, first printing. Inscribed presentation copy. Publisher's original grey card covers printed in burgundy. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents with the exception of the presentation inscription are clean and bright throughout. Inscribed by the dedicatee of Michael Longley's collection Harry Chambers in blue ink on the inside front cover "For Jim / (Feb 1968) / from / Harry". The distinguished editor, founder and director of the Peterloo Poets and Phoenix Pamphlets publisher, Harry Chambers was described by his friend Seamus Heaney as being one of the great "hearers and hearteners" of British and Irish poetry. A pencil note suggests the recipient to be poet, critic and essayist Jim Burns. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
