"Seltene erste deutsche Ausgabe der vorher in der dänischen Monatsschrift "Minerva" abgedruckten Briefe von Frederik Sneedorff (1761-1792), Professor der Geschichte in Kopenhagen. Durch mehrjährige Aufenthalte in Göttingen und Leipzig war er der deutschen Geistesgeschichte sehr verbunden. Die von Mai 1791 bis Februar 1792 datierten Briefe entstanden in Hamburg, Berlin, Dessau, Dresden, Leipzig, Jena, Schnepfenthal, Kassel, Mainz (mit Berichten über die Jakobiner Felix Anton Blau und Anton Josef Dorsch sowie über den aus der Schweiz nach Mainz verschleppten unbequemen Journalisten Peter Adolf Winkopp), Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Zürich, Basel, Bern, Genf, Lyon und Paris. Wenige Monate später starb Sneedorff in England beim Umsturz seines Reisewagens. Versehen mit Empfehlungsschreiben besuchte er Bibliotheken, Galerien, Kollegen, berühmte Gelehrte etc. und vermittelt interessante Schilderungen von den Auswirkungen der Französischen Revolution in den bereisten Gegenden.
