Jahrhundert erforschten Somnambulismus kam es mehrfach zu dokumentierten Vorfällen dieser Art. Von besonderem Interesse für die Allgemeinheit waren insbesondere die durch den "mondsüchtigen" Schlafwandler im Trancezustand erträumten Heilmittel für allerlei Krankheiten. Ein solcher Fall ist in den Jahren 1832/33 in Weilheim an der Teck, südöstlich von Stuttgart, dokumentiert: Ab Januar 1832 fällt dort die 16 Jahre alte Philippine Bäurle immer öfter in einen schlafähnlichen Zustand, aus dem sie niemand wecken kann, die Diagnose lautet "Somnambulismus". Die Kranke unternimmt, wie sie berichtet, in diesen Zuständen etwa 60 Reisen zu unbekannten Planeten und Sternen, in paradiesische und höllische Sphären. Von Oktober 1832 bis Januar 1833 berichtet Philippine Bäurle auch vom Kontakt zu Verstorbenen und nennt Heilmittel gegen Krankheiten. Der Fall erregt in der Folge großes öffentliches Interesse; schon im Folgejahr berichtet über sie ein Buch "Reisen in den Mond. Geschichte einer Somnambüle in Weilheim-Teck im Königreiche Württemberg in den Jahren 1832 und 1833". Das Erträumen der eigenen Heilmittel durch den Somnambulen ist mehrfach berichtet, noch Rudolf Steiner beschreibt dieses Phänomen und begründet es ausführlich. Unsere kleine Handschrift ist mit Sicherheit ein Dokument aus dem Umfeld dieses Vorfalls in Weilheim. In sauberer Schrift werden hier Heilmittel für ganz unterschiedliche Krankheiten aufgeführt, teils auch Frauenleiden und Medizin für Kinderkrankheiten. In dieser Form liest es sich wie ein kleines Rezepturbüchlein aus der volksmedizinischen Überlieferung, ohne große Besonderheiten, ist aber durch den Titel, der in derselben Handschrift abgefasst wurde wie der sonstige Text, mit einiger Sicherheit dem Weilheimer Somnambulen-Fall von 1832/33 zuzuordnen. In jedem Fall ist die Handschrift ein interessantes Zeugnis für die seit Mesmer erforschte und gerade in der Romantik mystifizierte Erscheinung des Schlafwandelns. - Papierbedingt gering gebräunt.
