To retrieve the required data (images) many researchers have given algorithms or methods to retrieve images among which image classification is one. It has played an important role in many applications like Medicine, Photogrammetric, and Computer Vision etc.In this project, an attempt is made to design a methodology for an efficient image classification system by extracting 50 features followed by image classification by incorporating different classification techniques. This project also deals with retrieving a new image instance which is not present in the training data set followed by image classification. A comparison is done between the classification techniques used and experimental results conducted on 1150 different images belonging to 17 different categories 84 pp. Englisch.

Para recuperar los datos necesarios (imágenes), muchos investigadores han creado algoritmos o métodos para recuperar imágenes, entre los que se encuentra la clasificación de imágenes. Ha desempeñado un papel importante en muchas aplicaciones como la medicina, la fotogrametría y la visión por ordenador, etc.En este proyecto se intenta diseñar una metodología para un sistema eficiente de clasificación de imágenes mediante la extracción de 50 características, seguida de la clasificación de imágenes mediante la incorporación de diferentes técnicas de clasificación. Este proyecto también trata de la recuperación de una nueva instancia de imagen que no está presente en el conjunto de datos de entrenamiento seguido de la clasificación de imágenes. Se comparan las técnicas de clasificación utilizadas y los resultados experimentales obtenidos con 1.150 imágenes diferentes pertenecientes a 17 categorías distintas. 88 pp. Spanisch.
