Originalpappband. Condition: Sehr gut. Sehr gutes Exemplar. - Das Ende des Nazi-Regimes eröffnete Kieser die Möglichkeit, sich mit der neuesten Entwicklung vertraut zu machen. In Vorlesungen und Seminaren an der Universität Würzburg beschäftigte er sich mit der Moderne, auch mit jüngst entstandenen Arbeiten noch unbekannter Künstler. Er schreibt zu dieser Tätigkeit: Der zweite, persönliche Grund der Ermutigung ist der, dass ich bei der Begegnung mit modernen Bildern im Sommer 1919 mich ebenso ratlos fand, wie sich die meisten finden, denen zum ersten Mal naturferne, gegenstandlose Bilder vor Augen kommen; verblüfft nämlich, stutzig. Ich konnte nichts damit anfangen, erst allmählich fand ich etwas dahinter, lernte verstehen und unterscheiden. Das blieb lange Zeit meine ganz private Angelegenheit, bis nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg junge Studenten meinen Rat und meine Hilfe erbaten in ihren eigenen Bemühungen um ein eigenes Urteil über moderne Malerei, die ihnen so lange vorenthalten und schlecht gemacht worden war, und die ihnen nun emphatisch und schwülstig als die einzig wahre und echte Kunst angepriesen wurde. In unseren Unterhaltungen ergab sich nun, dass das anfängliche misstrauische Unverständnis sich rasch in ein positives Verhältnis wandelte, wenn ich an ein paar konkreten Beispielen und Gegenbeispielen ihnen dartun konnte, dass die Veränderungen gegenüber älteren oder gleichzeitigen naturalistischen gegenständlich und perspektivisch ,richtig gemalten, im Thema verwandten Bildern einen guten Sinn haben, Erlebnisse, Einsichten Erkenntnisse vermitteln, die auf andere Art nicht zu gewinnen sind.
