Med 30 illustrationer. Texte suédois. Le suédois Ivar Kreuger (1880-1932) a été un des industriels les plus influents de l'entre-deux guerres. Il réussit à bâtir un conglomérat présent dans la construction, l'industrie et la banque, notamment à partir de monopoles de production d'allumettes, monopoles qui étaient souvent accordés en échanges de prêts importants à de nombreux gouvernements. Il fut proche du président américain Hoover et participa au lancement de la carrière de Greta Gustafsson [Greta Garbo]. La chute de Kreuger fut à la hauteur de son apogée et inspira écrivains et cinéastes. La crise de 1929 précipita à la faillite son empire fondé sur la dette. Il défraya la chronique mondiale en se donnant la mort à Paris en mars 1932: il venait d'échouer à vendre sa participation majoritaire dans Ericksson à son concurrent américain ITT (International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation).Sterner est l'auteur de monographie d'industriels emblématiques pour l'époque : Ford, Edison.Reliure un peu usagée, bon intérieur.
