Stobs camp, Hawick, was first used to house civilian internees on the outbreak of World War 1. It was later used to house prisoners of war. The above publication was composed and printed at Hawick by these prisoners of war and issued in Hawick and Germany. The camp also put on theatrical productions and printed programs for these. While in use for internees another publication was printed in 14 issues from 1915 before the arrival of the prisoners of war. A full account of the camp and its publication and history can be found online. A scarce and unusual survival of WW 1.
