The highest quality of the Riviere bindings satisfied the finest tastes of the British aristocracy. As it is embossed in gold on the edge of the binding [Bound by Riviere & Son for the Army & Navy], the present binding is an excellent example of the binding commissioned for the Army and Navy officers. Text in English. 18,1x12cm. VIII+900 pp. 1 vol. Complete. 13 etching plates. Occasional foxing. Leather binding. Dark green Morocco leather. Exquisite golden embossed frame. Five raised bands, with embossed vignettes. Crimson endpapers. Golden edges. Spine slightly cracked. Near fine condition.
