He attended Brigham Young University and received the B.S. degree the M.S. degree Ph.D. degree in 1941. His professional career began United States Geological Survey. He remained seven years, working primarily in the academic field began University of Utah. He has been teaching there for 32 years, and served as Head of the Department of Geology for 13 years. Lee's geological interests center chiefly and development of scenery. He has written extensively on these and other subjects. His two textbooks, Essentials of Earth History and Introduction to Geology (with two co-authors) are widely used. He is a member of ten scientific societies and is listed in Who's Who the West, American Men and Women of Science, World Who's Who of Science and Contemporary Authors. He is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Mrs. Stokes are the parents of four daughters and one son. …
