Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Die seit über 10 Jahren an meiner Klinik durchgeführte systematische Untersuchung des Netzhautgefäßdruckes mit dem Bailliartschen Ophthalmodynamometer hat mich immer mehr zur Überzeugung ge bracht, daß diese Methode für den Kliniker und Praktiker f…ast ebenso unerläßlich ist' wie die Augenspiegeluntersuchung als solche. Denjenigen, welche diese neue Untersuchungstechnik mit dem Vor wande ablehnen, daß die Fehlergrenzen zu groß seien, möchte ich nur entgegenhalten, daß der Messung des allgemeinen Blutdruckes eher größere Fehler anhaften und daß es trotzdem kaum jemandem ein fallen würde, deren Bedeutung für die Klinik zu bestreiten. Der Hauptwert des vorliegenden Buches liegt einerseits darin, daß mein ehemaliger Oberarzt, Herr Prof. E. B. STREIFF, sich im speziellen Teil überwiegend auf eigene, an der Universitäts-Augenklinik Genf ge machte klinische Beobachtungen stützen konnte und daß anderers;Jits die zwischen ihm und Prof. M. MONNIER in Genf möglich gewordene Zusammenarbeit auf experimentellem Gebiete es erlaubte, den allge meinen Teil in physiologischer Hinsicht auf einer wesentlich breiteren Basis aufbauen zu können. Ein besonderes Verdienst dieser Monographie sehe ich darin, daß sie auf die bis jetzt zu wenig beachtete Tatsache weitgehend Rücksicht nimmt, daß der Netzhautgefäßdruck erst in s';Jiner direkten Beziehung zum allgemeinen Blutdruck seine wahre Bedeutung in theoretischer und praktischer Hinsicht erhält.
