Issu de la noblesse, il poursuit sa carrière politique tout en combattant le christianisme et son représentant Ambroise, le fameux évêque de Milan. C'est en vain qu'il réclame et le retour à l'ancienne religion, et le rétablissement de l'Autel de la Victoire, symbole de la religion des Anciens, comme religion civile. François Juret (1553-1626).
