A quite interesting publication that is a history of Napoleon's military campaign in Russia in 1812 written by a Soviet historian and translated from Russian into French. Published in Nazi occupied France in the spring of 1941. One wonders how many Nazi readers the book found as their leader plotted his own debacle in Russia. The book exhibits frugal wartime production values with pulp paper for the pages, and a publisiher's label pasted onto the front cover with title and graphic over a plain blue wrapper. 270 pages, some uncut pages. Specific printing date "25 mars 1941" is noted on the back endpaper. Text is in French. Originally published in the Soviet Union in 1938.
