Condition: Gut. 1st edition. 104 p. Inside easily bronzy, half title with handwritten inscription and two small holes at the hinge. Otherwise very clean. Women in Turkey is a survey of the progress of women's rights in Turkey throughout the long history of the country. The author traces the movement through the "secluded peridos", the "awakening", and the "age of aspirations", to the "realization". Her thesis is that the status of women in society is a measure of the values which people have dreamed of for centuries were given Turkish women on the founding of the Republic in 1923.
