Hardcover. Condition: Good. Hardcover. Blue cloth over boards. "Design Loads" written on the spine in white paint, with a square of white paint further down the spine. Measures 10.5 x 8 inches. Multiple sections bound together in library binding; each section individually paginated. Sections are numbered as follows: 581, 755 --…published, respectively, in 1930 and 1934. The first section is titled "Load Assumptions for Calculating the Strength of Airplanes". 31 pages. The next is titled "Safety and Design in Airplane Construction". 12 pages. Each section is followed by multiple figures and tables. The entire volume, with original covers, has a later library binding. Gutters at front and back reinforced with white cloth. Two library stamps and some writing in pen on the front free endpaper. The first title page, for "Load Assumptions for Calculating the Strength of Airplanes," is dirty and rubbed, with pencil markings. Pages within the whole volume are clean and free of foreign markings. Light rubbing to covers. Comes from a large collection of technical memorandums from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics before the committee was abolished upon creation of NASA in 1958.
