First and last few pages are heavily age-spotted, and there are instances of considerable age-spotting throughout. Binding is a little loose at beginning of book. Text and illustrations are clear. 1p., 12mo. Good, on lightly-aged paper, with water staining to a couple of words. Written in a stylish, calligraphic hand. He begins by thanking the recipient for a letter and postal order, before continuing: 'In case you are interested, I also do paintings of antique weapons. An example of my work can be seen in the August 1962 issue of "Guns Review".' He explains that such illustrations can be in either black and white or full colour, and concludes: 'If you have a particular favourite I shall be pleased to quote.'.

VG, with scattered foxing, in original and brittle VG buff-coloured dustwrapper (black lettering, photo of "an old Ainu friend"). Dustwrapper has slight loss at the head of the spine, else all intact with just a couple of tiny closed nicks. A scarce book, and rarely found with its original dustwrapper.
