I chronicals the life and works of Ignaz Pferrerkorn, the Jesuit who coordinated the Christian conversion of local Indigenous tribes throughout Northwestern Mexico. The pages are vellum and in very good condition.The book is straight and solid. Boards are clean and the guilt title on the front board is in almost new condition. The dust jacket shows shelf wear and has some staining on the front BUT it is present. All pages are clean and unmarked. A map is connected showing different tribes. Father Och was a German Jesuit priest who served on the mission and worked among Indians before the Spanish occupation of Alta California. This book preserves his fine observation of Sonora Indian life. The book is in excellent condition, with no markings, except a smudge and a penciled price in the op corner of front endpaper. 196 p. of quality paper. Maps and drawings of wrought-iron window screens at Hermosillo, Sonora, by Ruth Chatfield. Includes notes and index. The olive boards with brown spine are clean. The lettering and cover decoration are gold. The bottom corners are slightly bumped and the spine edges are a little creased. The honey-colored cover with black lettering and white designs is worn at the edges and there is a tear in the folding flap. The price has been clipped. Chatfield, Ruth (illustrator).
