The pages are vellum and in very good condition. The book is straight and solid. Boards are clean and the gilt title on the front board is in almost new condition. The dust jacket shows shelf wear and has some staining on the front BUT it is present. All pages are clean and unmarked. A map is connected showing different tribes. Pfefferkorn, a German Jesuit, came to America in 1755 and served as a missionary among the Indians of Sonora until the Jesuit expulsion in 1767. His account, is a primary source on the Apache. There is a chapter with detailed discussion on cattle and the cattle industry.
