Born in Ontario in 1882, David Milne achieved early success as a painter in New York City. His work as a war artist in England and France in 1919 also attracted the attention of critics in London, where he found himself compared to Vincent van Gogh. Long known as a painter's painter, David Milne has only begun to receive the public recognition he deserves.
