Externally, generally smart. Some dampstaining to the rear of 'The Compulsory Husband'. Three hinges are tender. Ink inscriptions to front free-endpaper of two volumes. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Pages are bright, though with some spotting. Good. book.

A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth without fading. The contents with a bookplate of Harrogate Public Library to the pastedown and a faint square "withdrawn" stamp to the bottom corner of the copyright page are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper which remains without loss or large tears. Correctly priced 8/6 net to the front flap. Despite the stamp to the contrary, this copy shows very few signs of having been in the library system. Signed by the author in blue ink on the title page.
