Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. Author Tom Ford and Bridget Foley, Foreword by Anna Wintour, Introduction by Graydon Carter [414] pp. Rizzoli 2004 14 1/4" x 11/4" Tom Ford has become one of fashion's great icons. He transformed Gucci from a moribund accessories label into one of the sexiest fashion brands in the world. Hi…s designs have increased sales at Gucci tenfold and have helped build the Gucci brand into the luxury goods conglomerate that it is today. Ford brought a hard-edged style synonymous with 21st century glamour to his clothes, and Hollywood sat up and took note. This book is a complete catalogue of Ford's design work for both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent from 1994 to 2004. It chronicles not only Ford's clothing and accessories designs for both houses, but also explores Ford's grand vision for the complete design of a brand, including architecture, store design, and advertising. Tom Ford features more than 200 photographs by Richard Avedon, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, Terry Richardson, Craig McDean, Todd Eberle, and numerous other photographers including many previously unpublished images. Published to coincide with his departure from Gucci, this book has been created with Ford's full cooperation and every page reflects his exceptional taste. It is Ford's testament to a career of singular moments reinventing the boundaries of style and sensuality in clothing.

Condition: Near Fine. Jefferies Cowan & Hamiltons Gallery. London. 2006. Published in an edition of 2,000 copies in 4 different bindings, this being one with yellow endpapers, light grey cloth and a dark grey cloth slipcase. Hardback, folio; grey cloth-bound boards, slipcase. [c.80 pages.] 29 large reproductions of Horst's plati…num prints, printed on rectos only. English. 410x320mm. 2.3kg. Near fine, in very good slipcase; bump to lower forecorner, slight rubbing to edges and forecorners of slipcase. A year after Hamiltons Gallery first exhibition of Horst's work in 1986, owners Tim Jefferies and Andy Cowan commissioned a series of platinum prints from Horst of his most favourite images. The cost of printing on platinum was expensive but the exhibition in 1987 was a huge success, elevating Horst's photographs to the level of fine art and creating a high-price market for his work. In 2006, to mark the centenary of Horst's birth, Hamiltons exhibited his platinum prints again, publishing the limited edition book Horst. Platinum to commemorate the event. The book is beautifully produced and printed, reflecting the quality and tonality of the platinum prints. Many of Horst's most iconic images are present, including 'Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel, 1937', 'Electric Beauty, 1939', 'Mainbocher Corset, 1939' and 'Lisa with Turban, 1940'. Beaux Books specialises in fine and rare books on art and culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. We welcome questions about our books and we are happy to provide any extra images.
