During the 1870s he served as the treasurer of the San Francisco Microscopical Society. Wrappers a bit worn, with edge chipping. "Barometer" inked to bottom edge. Booklabel of "Chs G. Ewing, San Francisco" to front & rear wrapper. An About VG copy. Original publisher's printed red wrappers. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve.
