Add to basketCondition: Very good. A press photo from 1932 of National Hunger March to Washington protestors stopped for a mass meeting at Reyburn Plaza in Philadelphia. This was the second National Hunger March-the first was in 1931-organized by the Communist Party USA's Unemployed Councils. Marchers were limited to elected representatives…of local Unemployed Council branches, with 1,600 marching in 1931 and 3,200 in 1932. The march brought unemployed workers from across the country to rally in Washington, D.C., petitioning Congress for aid in the form of emergency winter relief and unemployment insurance. Photograph measuring 8 x 6 ½ inches. With caption and manuscript verso. Some wrinkling with fold across lower third; stain across top third.
