Valentine's Company (1825-1963) was a major publisher of views originally founded in Dundee by John Valentine. Note the J.V. denoting the name of the company at the bottom of each view of Scottish scenery. Includes Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Abbey Craig, Dunblane Cathedral, the Trossachs, Loch Lomond, etc.

A real photo postcard collection of a Turkish soldier named Mustafa Baspak, including gelatin silver prints (one is hand-colored) of South Africa; attractive views of Cape Town (23 photos), Durban (24 photos), and Natal (2 photos). Some cards are posted to Turkey by military post. Mostly, these real photo postcards are published by Valentine's (SA) Ltd., a photographic/printing company established by Mr. James Valentine (1814-1879) in 1851. In 1963, the company became a subsidiary of John Waddington Ltd.
