Son hitos de esos años: la composición y arreglos de temas instrumentales antológicos, la gran constelación de orquestas típicas, la revolución de Astor Piazzolla, la llegada del tango a Japón, el comienzo de la edición de libros sobre el tango que luego se intensificó, el estudio del lunfardo como lenguaje popular. Sin embargo, esta obra no es una evocación nostálgica de esos años, sino que además de destacar esos excepcionales sucesos, aprovecha este repunte que se ha dado a nivel mudial en el tango y se cierra con un panorama más actual que vuelve optimista su visión del futuro.

Se lo encuentra disperso en artículos sueltos y muy poco en trabajos unitarios. Siendo el tango donde se la advirtió con más notoriedad, en este libro se han abordado en detalle sus efectos en dicho género. Para ello se ha tenido en cuenta la documentación sonora que testimonió el paso de esta censura por el tango. Todo ello como conclusiones que surgen de la documentación obtenida. Dos aspectos que hay que destacar y que surgen de este estudio son: que Monseñor Gustavo Franceschi, muy citado cuando se encara el tema, no presidió ni participó en ninguna comisión relacionada con esta censura y Gustavo Martínez Zuviría, que ha sido tan vapuleado en cuanto a sus opiniones, demuestra en conceptos que integran los anexos que, con relación al lunfardo es mucho más criterioso que otros personajes que nunca se mencionan al tratar este tema.
