Gilt-ruled, panelled sp.covers remain very attractive and in generally sound condition, gilt lib.logos top spines, gilt-lettered labels and vol./part numbers; clean, sl.surface scuffing and some edge rubbing (esp.outer edges), fr.joint Part 1 has thin crack but appears to have been internally secured at some point and is now firm. All edges red-sprinkled, lib.stamps bottom edge of text-blocks, but who's going to look there? This 2 part volume is an important text in its own right as a landmark in the study of the psychophysiology of the senses, especially Ewald Hering's 'Raumsinn des Auges' in Part 1 (he also contributes a chapter on 'Temperatursinn' to Part 2 ). Despite lib. provenance this remains an extremely acceptable copy with no significant structural defects or browning.
