An important classic work in botany, and a very good copy.Mid-brown full bound leather boards have minor marks and scratches, especially at the edges and corners, which have been worn down. The spine is in very good condition, with almost no signs of wear, with four raised bands, 4 gilt pressed decorations and gilt titling all clear, bright and in very good condition. Some minor foxing to the pages but all text and illustrations are very clear and in very good condition. Illustrations include a very nice hand-coloured frontispiece of a chamaedrys.
