Spine cover lacking with threads exposed. Front board edges have some rubbing/ chipping, crease mark across lower front corner.Rear board has illustration of 2 poodles (dancing?/ fighting?), chips to corners and one to center of vertical edge. Interior pages clean, toned. Black and white illustrations throughout with one 2-page color spread of dogs and cats in the yard.

First edition. Small quarto (21.5 x 17cm). [iv], 46, [2] pp. Published at 1s in aid of The Blue Cross. Illustrated by Louis Wain. First page of text browned & some occasional light foxing. Otherwise a bright copy in the publisher's cloth-backed pictorial boards with the original pictorial dustwrapper, which has some loss paritcularily around the margins. A scarce Wain work not noted by Dale in his bibliography. Vg. [BMC 25, 376].
