Add to basket42 x 27cm. Large hardcover format with faux-leather spine and paper-covered boards, unpaginated [32pp]. Text in English and Russian (title page in Russian). Colour illustrations. Beautifully produced oversized catalogue for Ira Waldron's solo exhibition 'Social Hygiene' with introductory essays by Olga Florenskaya, Vitaly Patsyukov, and Giorgy Litichevsky. The works depicted are Art Brut-style productions with placard-like qualities, bearing integrated statements in Russian relating to health, hygiene, illness, alcoholism, libido, organ donation, nursing, etc., translated here into English on the adjacent pages. Ira Waldron's works have been exhibited in England, France, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. She was a member of the Union of Artists of France. As Olga Florenskaya remarked regarding the artist, "the everyday inscriptions of 'Social Hygiene' are so flawless that they arguably surpass the aesthetic exercises in this genre by Larionov and Zdanevich." Very unusual item. Small bump to edge of spine, otherwise very good condition.
