Pages are lightly tanned at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards have slight shelf with bumping to corners. Spine ends are a little crushed with light tanning. Light wear to unclipped dust jacket with tears, nicks and creases to spine, edge and corners. Moderate sunning to jacket edges and spine.

Pages are rather marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Gutters somewhat cracked with some exposed netting; slightly loose binding. Text block edges highly foxed. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Boards a little rubbed and marked overall. Slight water staining to rear. Boards are slightly bowed. Spine is noticeably sunned. A few liquid droplet marks.

Walley Barnes (1920-75) played for Arsenal 1943-56 and won the first of his 22 caps for Wales in 1947. He went on to captain his country. After football he joined the BBC and was one of the commentators, with Kenneth Wolstenholme, on the very first edition of Match of the Day in 1964. 8vo. 208pp. Portrait frontis, 14 b/w plates.
