He became a joournalist on the 'Palestine (now Jerusalem') Post', and after the Six Day War he specialsied in studying the occupied territories. In 1970 he spoke before the UN Committee on Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, despite official Israeli boycott of it. Uncommon.

Jacket good, tanned and spotted with a little loss to the upper and lower edges, and internal archival tape repair. Undated, c1940 based on the latest reference spotted in the text. Chapters cover manners and customs, characters, professions, Moslem institutions, feasts and festivals, and trips around the town. Noting that existing guide books and works on manners and customs "fail to interpret local variations and customs peculiar to a certain district or period", the author seeks here to make readers familiar with "the daily life of our Arab neighbours, and encourages them to increase their contact, thus leading to better understanding between the inhabitants of this country". He bases this on 5 years of close observation in the Old City. Some of the material had been previously published in the Palestine Post.
